The Portuguese Government will present, at the next NATO summit in July, a “credible program” to achieve a defense investment of 2% of GDP between now and 2029, the prime minister announced this Wednesday in parliament.

The Head of Government then reiterated that Portugal will bring a “credible and feasible” plan to the high-level NATO meeting, scheduled for July 9-11 in Washington.
Montenegro was responding to questions from the Chega tribunal, which warned that Portugal will face “pressure” at the NATO summit to increase its defense investment.
