EPP parliamentary days bring together Von der Leyen and Metsola in Lisbon and Cascais

The President of the European Commission and the President of the European Parliament will join personalities such as Durão Barroso, Luís Montenegro, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Nuno Melo at the match event.

The parliamentary group of the European People’s Party (EPP, which includes MEPs from the PSD and the CDS) will hold its first parliamentary days after the European elections in Lisbon and Cascais between Tuesday and Friday.

According to a statement sent to Lusa, from 2 to 5 July, the 187 MEPs elected by the EPP will be in Lisbon and Cascais, including the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and the President of the European Commission, who was re-elected to office on Thursday by the European Council, Ursula von der Leyen, as well as the leader of the centre-right political group, Manfred Weber.

The list of speakers at the conferences, which take place behind closed doorsIt includes the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, the leader of the PP in Spain (opposition), Alberto Feijóo and the former Prime Minister and former President of the European Commission, José Manuel Durão Barroso.

The conferences are also attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel, Defence, Nuno Melo, Agriculture, José Manuel Fernandes, and Environment, Maria da Graça Carvalho, all former MEPs from the EPP group.
