Taylor Swift will take to the stage in Vienna under tighter security measures than the remaining nights of the Eras Tour. Austrian authorities announced Wednesday the arrest of two men suspected of planning a terrorist attack at the pop star’s concert.
A 19-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday morning with possible links to the terrorist group Islamic State. The information was provided by the Austrian authorities at a press conference. A second suspect was arrested in the afternoon.
According to Interior Ministry official Franz Ruf, chemicals used to make explosives and detailed plans for an attack were found. Both suspects are believed to have been radicalised via the Internet.
The singer will perform three concerts in Vienna on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Apart from increased security, no further changes to the concert plans have been announced.
