Iran considered the visit of the UN nuclear agency productive and useful

During his visit to Iran, Rafael Grossi met with President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and the president of the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency.

Iranian diplomacy considered “useful and rich in understanding” the visit to the country by the director of the UN nuclear agency, Rafael Grossi, and added that it resolved doubts about the nuclear program.

“Grossi’s trip was useful and rich in constructive understanding“said the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ismail Baghaei, at a press conference this Monday in Tehran.

The diplomat said that “Some doubts about the Iranian nuclear program” have been resolved during the visit of Grossi, director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), whose relations with Tehran have deteriorated since the United States abandoned the nuclear pact in 2018.

During his two-day visit to Iran, Grossi met with President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and President of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency Mohammad Eslami. Pezeshkian said he was willing to respond to Iran’s “concerns about the peaceful nature of nuclear activities.”

Grossi arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to revive the IAEA’s relations with Iran, which have deteriorated since the United States abandoned the 2015 nuclear deal that limited Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for lifting sanctions.

Since 2019, Iran has enriched uranium well above permitted levels, although Grossi has assured that did not develop nuclear weapons. The IAEA is also trying to clarify the origin of unnatural traces of uranium detected in three locations that Tehran never declared as part of the program.
