Amr Waked (1960) is still controversial in Egypt. The Egyptian artist, who fled his country after the appointment of Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as president of Egypt, uses his social media pages as a place to express his opposition to military rule, describing it as the strongest in term. It was learned that the Egyptian actor had participated in the “January Revolution”, and when Sisi was elected president, he made statements, calling the incident a “military coup.”

Waked’s political stance is not only controversial, but he has been accused of normalizing relations with the Israeli enemy after he announced his participation in the second part of the film “Superwoman 1982” (Director: Patty Jenkins), in which the former soldier Israeli Gal Gadot plays the heroine.
Despite objections to his political stance on the internal issues of Egypt, the artist tried to overcome this crisis through works taken outside Egypt. Last year he also entered the world of television programming.
Last fall, he presented a program called “Dhales” on O2, a digital platform linked to the Qatari channel Al Jazeera.
In his program, Waked posed strange questions that he presented in an acting performance based on his conclusions. In the first stage, he addressed the idea of an “alien invasion of Earth”.
In this context, Waked will soon repeat the experience of hosting programs on O2, as the platform recently announced a contract extension with the actor, and he will soon launch the second season of his work. It is noteworthy that “Dhales” was not satisfied with the high visibility on the virtual pages of “O2”, and the name Waked was not associated with a successful presentation experience, and his political positions remained most -influential.
