“It’s a political newscast with a little charm.” This phrase was used by someone to describe the 2022 Miss Lebanon Election Night, hosted by Rola Saad (Vanilla Production), yesterday, Sunday, and shown on the lbci channel. Fortunately for the organizers of the aesthetic contest, it was shown after the evening news, because the Lebanese public was busy with the breathtaking final match of the 30th Asian Basketball Championship in the afternoon, and the Lebanese team made it to the fourth that opportunity in their history before losing to him by two points, ahead of the Australian giants.

Thus, in the evening, lbci breathed a sigh of relief and moved the party, which will return after a three-year absence following the political, economic and health crisis facing the country. But forced absence does not lead to selection consideration. The cultural level of the participants is at the lowest level, and the Arabic language is modern and there is nothing wrong with that. The only difference between what we saw yesterday and what we saw on the screen years ago is the tyranny of structural political rhetoric and cliché over the aesthetic event. Obscure slogans rained down on Lebanon as contestants competed for catchy phrases in their country. From the Corona to the bread crisis, the sad economic problems and the explosion of the port of Beirut… all these events were covered at night in a bad building template, to the point that some of the responses of 17 participants are laughed at. in social networks. As one said he came from Milan to take part because the Italian city lacked the sea. He returned from abroad for the Sea of Sidon (southern Lebanon) before another date arrived. He confirmed that he encourages voluntary civil marriage because it “boosts the bank’s budget”!
Criticism also focused on the financial prize given to the crowned girl, in the amount of one hundred thousand US dollars in cash, at a time when a large part of the Lebanese lacked the basic necessities of life.
Despite this, the event managed to soften the atmosphere, and at the end of the event, Yasmina Zaitoun (20 years old) received the crown of Lebanese beauty from Maya Raidi, who was elected in 2018.
Zaytun, who comes from the city of Kfarchuba in the south of the country, is studying journalism, he is 167 centimeters tall and weighs 51 kilograms. In addition to the financial prize, Lebanon will be represented in the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants.
Maya Abul-Hassan was first, Jacinta Rashid was second, Lara Khrawi was third and Al-Khalasiya, Dalal Hoballah was fourth.
This is after 17 participants battled for the title in a competition sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism under the slogan “We miss Lebanon” and handed out directly by lbci from the Forum de Beirut.
As for the jury, it includes musician Michel Fadel, social media “influencer”, Karen Vazin, CEO of An-Nahar newspaper and An-Nahar website, Nailah Tueny, producer Mohamed Yahya, director of “Caracalla”. Theater” Ivan Caracalla and host Hilda Khalife, Miss Lebanon 1993 Samaya Shadravi, and the current Miss World from Poland Karolina Bilawska, who was replaced by Julia Morley, chairman of the board of directors of the organizing body of the Miss World Pageant due to health problems .
It is noteworthy that the party, in which dancers participated, was hosted by Lebanese star Nancy Ajram, and presented by actress and TV presenter Aimee Saya.
