Salam said, in a radio statement, that support would continue, and I would not accept the random removal of bread subsidies, confirming the opening of a $ 21 million credit to support wheat. He added, “At the cabinet session on Friday, I will ask the Finance Ministry to pay the money to the ships.”
He added: “The mills that will monopolize subsidized flour will act to protect the consumer and take action against them,” explaining that “Lebanon is a country that imports 90 percent of what it consumes. , and we agreed yesterday with Prime Minister Najib Mikati to develop a plan and mechanism between the ministries of agriculture and economy and streamline it in the coming years, but the lesson remains in implementation.
He stressed his desire to keep the bundle of bread and keep its price, and the biggest challenge manipulating its price is the dollar exchange rate, which goes against all standards.
