Saudi finance minister calls for immediate plan to address food security challenges

Speaking at the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank group on Sunday night, Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister Muhammad Al-Jadaan called for an immediate plan to address food security challenges.

The Finance Minister said the Kingdom was ready, since its inception, to serve humanitarian work and development in the countries of the Islamic world, the Saudi daily “Urgent” reported.

He added that the geopolitical and economic challenges the world is going through today necessitate that the Bank group countries raise the level of cooperation and coordination to reduce the negative impacts on the region’s economy, especially inflationary and supply pressure. . breakage of the chain.

The Saudi Minister of Finance clarified that the conditions and changes facing the development process around the world and in the Islamic world in particular require continuous work to strengthen the institutional and integration work of the Bank. and its institutions, and establish performance indicators that aid in monitoring and evaluation. the level of team performance.

Al-Jadaan stressed that the Kingdom realizes the need to improve work to achieve global climate goals as it launches various initiatives and projects under the Middle East Green Initiative.
