The source, who asked not to be named because he is not authorized to speak to the media, added: “The Finance Committee of the House of Councilors (the second house of the Moroccan parliament) will meet next Tuesday at the request of the government to inform the committee of the government’s intention to open additional financial allocations by government decree.”
He pointed out that “the case is related to the additional costs necessary to subsidize the prices of gas, wheat and sugar, in accordance with the requirements of section 60 of the Organic Finance Law.”
Article 60 of the Law on the Organization of Finance states that “in the event of an urgent and unforeseen need in the national interest, the government may allocate additional appropriations by decree during the year, and the two committees responsible for finance in Parliament shall be informed of this in advance.” this is.”
