Central Bank of Tunisia: Tourism revenue up 51%

The Central Bank of Tunisia released monetary figures that showed that “the value of tourism revenue in Tunisia increased by 51% until June 10 this year, recording 1.1 billion dinars”, adding that “labor income increased by 15.8 percent compared to the same period in 2021, reaching a value of up to 3.1 billion dinars.

The amount of these revenues hardly allows financing the servicing of external debt, the value of which has grown from 3.4 billion dinars in June 2021 to 3.7 billion dinars, an increase of 7.8 percent at present.

The figures from the Central Bank of Tunisia also showed an improvement in net hard currency assets, which rose to RSD 24.2 billion by June 10, 2022 from RSD 21.3 billion compared to the same period in 2021.

As for the money market, as of June 17, 2022, the total volume of exchanges between banks increased by 27.8 percent by about 2 billion dinars. The total volume of refinancing also increased by 37.6 percent and reached the level of 11.1 billion. dinars before the same date.
