The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to bring back the Best in Africa Awards after they were canceled in the past two years due to the spread of the Corona virus.

He said that the best awards ceremony will take place on July 21, on the sidelines of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco from the 2nd to the 23rd of the same month.

He added: “This year’s awards are the best player of the year (men and women), the best player of the continent, the best young player, the best team, the best technical director, the best club and club of the year, and the goal of the year.”

He stressed that the selection will be made based on the performance of the players between September 2021 and July 2022, and the winners will be determined based on the decisions of team leaders and coaches, selected journalists, a technical research team and some African Football Legends.

It is noteworthy that the last time the award was held in Egypt in 2019, Sadio Mane was recognized as the best player in Africa, and Assisat Oshoala received the award as the best player.
