Erdogan: Turkey’s investment in Serbia witnessed a quantum leap

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country’s investment in Serbia over the past ten years has witnessed a quantum leap, adding: “Our investment in Serbia over the past 10 years has witnessed a quantum leap, its value has increased from $1 million to $400. million dollars.”

He noted that the number of Turkish companies operating in Serbia has exceeded 1,300 and the number of Turkish factories has increased to 21,” expressing hope that the number of Serbian tourists in Turkey will reach a record level this year, exceeding 300,000 tourists.

“This visit, which we are making with a large delegation of our ministers and representatives from various sectors of the business world, is a clear indication of the importance we attach to our cooperation with Serbia,” Erdogan added, highlighting the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between Turkey and Serbia.

He explained: “We have lived together for centuries in these lands, and the long-standing friendship between us plays an important role in achieving the ideal level of our relationship. Serbia is a key country for peace and stability in the Balkans, and we are working together to ensure stability and prosperity in the region, as the path to this lies through a strong economy.”

Erdogan said that “the volume of trade between the two countries set a record last year, approaching two billion dollars, and we aim to raise the volume of trade between the two countries to $2.5 billion this year, and we hope to double this number in the coming years.” and achieve our overall goal of $5 billion.”

Erdogan continued: “I would like to thank my dear friend Aleksandar Vučić, who spared no effort in supporting our investors working in Serbia, as he personally deals with their problems, and our contracting companies implement important projects in Serbia, where our company’s turnover is about 847 million dollars in 50 projects in different regions of Serbia.
