Endesa revealed this Wednesday that it obtained a profit of 292 million euros in the first quarter of this year, 50.8% less than in the same period of the previous year.
The value of the net result was due to a 53% drop in electricity prices compared to the first quarter of 2023 and weak demand, explains the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) in a statement.
The ordinary net profit, which serves as the basis for the distribution of dividends to shareholders, also stood at that value (292 million euros) and registered a drop of the same order of magnitude compared to the same period last year.
Endesa, for its part, presented a gross operating result (EBITDA) of 1,079 million euros until March, 26.2% less than that registered in the same quarter of 2023.
However, revenues fell 26.1% until March of this year, to 5,547 million euros.
