The Portuguese DreamMedia buys Cemark from the Spanish group FCC

The Portuguese company DreamMedia, which claims to have launched the “first national network of digital billboards”, announced the purchase of the entire capital of Cemark, a specialist in street furniture that has been operating since 1993, from the Spanish group FCC. The acquisition was closed last Thursday and was announced this Monday in a statement, in which it claims to have achieved the “largest billboard coverage in Portugal.”

With the purchase, DreamMedia states that it becomes “a new operator in the segment premium of billboards, with networks that reach coverage in around 60 major cities in the country.” In a statement, which guarantees that the acquisition “promotes competition in the sector, benefiting cities, brands and citizens”, the outdoor advertising company maintains that the operation “offers greater power of choice” to agencies and advertisers. , allowing them “access to the most diverse and technologically advanced network of billboards and digital formats in the country.”

Furthermore, the DreamMedia highlights that “it becomes the largest employer in the sector”, with around 300 workersand that foresees a “turnover of 50 million euros annually from 2027.” This value represents double the estimate for this year, in which the company expects “a turnover of around 25 million euros.”

Last May, the DreamMedia had already announced the purchase of part of another company, Publifunchalwith the aim of assuming “the commercial management of street furniture” in Funchal. “Our entry into Madeira represents the union of the largest communication players in the autonomous region, among them the Diário de Notícias da Madeira, the Jornal de Notícias da Madeira and Controlmedia,” Ricardo Bastos said then, according to the newspaper Eco.
