Rapper Lil Kid, who worked for Young Thug’s label Young Stoner Life, died Friday in Los Angeles. He is 24 years old.
New York Times His departure was recorded Saturday hours before Kid (real name: Rackheed Jewon Render) was scheduled to perform at the Charlotte, North Carolina Music Festival.
The cause of death of the Atlanta player has not yet been disclosed.
Kid’s brother, rapper Lil Gotit, confirmed the tragic news via Instagram.
“I can’t believe I saw you die today, brother,” she wrote. “I’ve put out all my crying, I know what you want me to do, and it’s hard for mom and dad, our brothers Naichur and Whiteboy.”

Kid’s pregnant girlfriend, Kuan Bundz, also shared her sadness on Instagram.
“I love you so much baby, what should I do without you, I can’t breathe, I can’t sleep, nothing, I don’t even want to talk to anyone, son, I can’t stand it,” she explained. “What can I say to Naichur? What shall I say to our new baby? Baby, I told you the other day, when you leave me with these two kids I’ll go crazy, I’ll lose my mind baby.
Then she continued, “Sorry I didn’t fly to LA. I know I could save you baby, you really showed me that all you need is the LOVE you give, the LOVE I give you. I’m sorry, please when you get home tell me it was a dream. POPE.
The boy’s death came just days after Young Thug’s mentor and rapper Gunna was arrested in Atlanta on gang charges. New York Post reports.
He is known to collaborate with Travis Scott and Chris Brown on his latest album Trapped on Cleveland 3.
