Jimmy Kimmel used his Wednesday night show to apologize abbot primary school writer Quinta Brunson for a stunt that some viewers felt was impressed by the Emmy award he won earlier in the week.
“People said I stole your memory,” Kimmel told Brunson. “Maybe I did and I’m sorry if I did. I honestly regret what I did. And the last thing I want to do is piss you off because I think about you a lot. I think you already know. I hope you know that.”
Brunson told Kimmel that what she remembers most about that moment was her joy, not lying on the floor while she was receiving the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
“Well, Jimmy, let me thank you. That’s very kind of you to say,” he said. “Honestly, I’m at the point where I’m just having fun. For example, I won my first Emmy. I was happy there, immersed in that moment and enjoyed it.”
The change came after host Will Arnett pulled the 54-year-old player. Jimmy Kimmel Live! The host performs as a skit before announcing the winner for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
“Jimmy can’t come tonight,” 52-year-old Arnett told the “dead” landlord lying on the ground. “Jimmy hit the skinny margaritas,” she added, after missing an Emmy for the night’s 13th consecutive series.
Kimmel remained face-down in front of the microphone throughout his speech and was later criticized online by some as insane and by others as an example of white male arrogance.

At one point Brunson even tried to wake him up by saying, “Wake up Jimmy, I won.” men’s show He stayed where he was.
On Wednesday, the AP reported that Brunson and his fellow cast members answered questions from TV critics in a virtual panel discussion and downplayed lead actress Sheryl Lee Ralph’s behavior at the Emmy Awards. “I thought, ‘Oh, that’s so disrespectful, Jimmy,'” Ralph said.

When asked what he expected from his performance with Kimmel, Brunson said he “guesses we’ll have a great new season” and aims to highlight the return of Abbott Elementary’s second season in September. 21.
Backstage at the Emmy Awards on Monday, Brunson also happily admitted that he wasn’t “so” bothered by the episode and stood by Kimmel and was “Abbott Elementary.”
A smiling Brunson added that if she decides to hate him, she can “slap him in the face” as she appears on her show.
