According to the 2020 Senate Republican report, Hunter Biden received a $3.5 million wire transfer in 2014 from Elena Baturina, Russia’s richest woman and widow of Moscow’s former mayor Yuri Luzhkov.
The report described its affiliation with Biden as a “financial relationship,” but did not disclose the payment made to Biden’s offspring investment firm Rosemont Seneca Partners. No explanation was given about the payment or the services provided.
“Baturina became Russia’s only female billionaire when the plastics company Inteko won a series of municipal contracts in Moscow while her husband was mayor,” the GOP report on the businesswoman said.
