On April 25, his condition worsened and he was transferred to an isolation room in the intensive care unit and placed on a mechanical ventilator. Samples were taken from the patient’s respiratory tract to identify pathogens, including coronavirus and tuberculosis bacteria, in addition to blood. and urinalysis.
Two days later, the polymerase chain reaction showed that the causative virus was MERS-CoV. The patient’s condition remains unstable and he is still on a mechanical ventilator in the isolation room of the intensive care unit.
It should be noted that Middle East Respiratory Syndrome is a viral respiratory disease caused by one of the Corona viruses, and it is different from the Corona virus (Covid 19), because the two viruses differ in source of infection, mode of transmission and severity. . of pain
