“Ray of Light” with the opening of the embassy in Jerusalem four years later

Saturday, May 14, marked the 74th anniversary of the founding of the modern State of Israel according to the secular calendar, and the fourth anniversary of the US Embassy in Jerusalem, which President Donald Trump recognized as Israel’s indivisible capital.

As Breitbart reported at the time, a beam of light from above struck the embassy seal as soon as it was on:

The embassy also published an enlarged copy of the Jerusalem Embassy Act, a law passed by Congress in 1995 and enacted by President Bill Clinton, who ordered the embassy to be moved to Jerusalem.

The official opening of the embassy started with the presentation of flowers, the “Stars and Stripes Poster” presentation and the opening speech of the US Ambassador David Friedman, who hosted the ceremony.

“Today we are opening the US Embassy in Jerusalem,” he said.

The opening prayers were by Pastor Robert Jeffress and Rabbi Zalman Volovik, both referring to Psalm 123:6, “Pray for peace in Jerusalem.”

Ethiopian-Israeli singer Hagit Yaso, whose parents went to Sudan to reach Israel, sang a frightening version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and many audiences were in tears.

[W]A beam of light hit the rocks of Jerusalem when Ivanka Trump, the White House adviser and daughter of the president, officially opened her seal at the embassy entrance.

Ivanka Trump’s wife, White House adviser Jared Kushner, also emphasized that the United States remains committed to negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians.

Recognition of the embassy did not directly lead to peace talks in some Arab and Muslim countries. Palestinians have recently sought to disrupt the growing movement towards Israeli-Arab negotiations through terror and unrest.
