Poll: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is 6 points ahead of Democrat Beto O’Rourke

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (right) is six points ahead of his Democratic challenger, failed presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, in a recent poll.

A University of Texas poll found that Abbott was supported by 45 percent of Texas voters. On the other hand, Democratic candidate O’Rourke received 39 percent support.

Libertarian Party candidate Mark Tippets received 2 percent support, while Green Party candidate Delilah Barrios received only 1 percent.

Another ten percent of Texas voters “didn’t think enough to have an opinion.”

According to polls conducted in January, Abbott continues to lead O’Rourke.

The Texas Governor received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump in June 2021. Trump said Abbott was “a staunch advocate of the Second Amendment and has made Texas the sanctuary of the Second Amendment.”

O’Rourke recently postponed an Abbott press conference with the mayor of Uvalde, Texas, following a shooting at a school in Uvalde.

According to Breitbart News:

Beto appears to be waiting for the Governor to finish speaking before stopping in front of the stage to interrupt Governor Dan Patrick’s speech. Patrick tries to shut down the Democrats’ gubernatorial nominee by saying, “Sorry, you’re out of line and embarrassing.”

O’Rourke began speaking through the Governor to address Governor Abbott. “You’re doing nothing,” said the failed presidential and senatorial candidate.

Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin tried to shout in his loudest voice in confusion. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is also trying to silence Beto.

“He has to get his ass up here,” said Mayor Uvalde of the subversive candidate. “Sir, you are irrelevant! Sir, you are irrelevant! Please leave this room.”

“You sick son of a bitch,” the mayor continued, “I can’t believe you went to an event like this to raise political issues.”

The University of Texas conducted a survey of 1,200 registered voters in Texas from June 16-24. The voting error was ±2.83 percent.
