Mulvaney: January 6 Needle Movement Research; GOP now sees Trump as ‘broken’

Former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney told CNN Tonight on Wednesday that the January 6 House Election Committee hearing “pushed” Republicans to Washington DC, who now think Donald Trump will be destroyed. Presidential candidate in 2024.

Host Casey Hunt said, “You’ve been a politician for a long time. How do you measure whether Republicans are ready to relocate to some of these larger states, particularly Georgia and possibly Wisconsin, where these hearings might be a bit more involved?

Mulvaney said, “It’s not a determining factor, but I think in the last 12 hours someone at Gallup did a poll asking people to rate the issues that matter most to them, and that didn’t motivate them to respond. No one said on January 6th. “No one told the commission. Things like the economy still drive and protect ordinary Americans.”

“It moves the needle inside Washington, inside the political world. You see, I think people, especially people in my party, see Donald Trump as flawed and something that could weigh on the party before the midterms and into 2024, so I think you’re starting to hear Mike Pence roar. Donald Trump against Mike Pompeo, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley in 2024. I don’t think you were in these conversations six or eight weeks ago, before the committee hearings started.
