Forest fires are raging; a new strain of coronavirus is growing; and his state is running out of water, but the Governor of California. Gavin Newsom (D) heads to Washington DC for a four-day visit, while President Joe Biden takes a trip to the Middle East.
Newsom, whose state has closed schools for more than a year during the coronavirus pandemic and ranks 44th in the US in study results despite high taxes and luxury spending, will receive an education award from her state.
The Associated Press says the award was given to California for its advance towards universal preschool education in 2025. But the AP added that it is believed Newsom is preparing for a presidential career as Democrats try to find ways to eliminate Biden.
