MP Luria at hearing on Jan 6: Many things ‘distracted’, my GOP voters ‘really paying attention’

Representative Elaine Luria (D-VA) said in MSNBC’s news report that the House Election Committee heard that Republican voters were “really paying attention.”

Host Rachel Maddow said: “I have a lot to ask you about today’s trial. Let me ask you generally, if there are time constraints, schedule constraints, things that you regret are left on the ground, have you felt how those things work? If you feel like you’ve said your role? Do you and Adam Kinzinger feel like you’ve covered the area you want to cover tonight?”

Luria said, “It’s like we were. I felt it stolen. The answer we got after the hearing was that we cut too much. We want to show that it’s three hours. Look, I think President Bush was criticized for the seven minutes he spent in a classroom full of students on 9/11 before he acted. It is 187 minutes. Three hours and seven minutes. It’s not even a question.”

“I can talk about the Republican voters I met in the Virginia Beach community and also in Virginia. You know, people really pay attention. I think it’s one of the things they hear often, we’ve heard all this in the news, we get it a little here, a little there, but it’s the committee’s job to put it all together, to paint a picture to present it. . how we use all levels of power to influence the outcome of elections and stay in power.”
