The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced sanctions against Moroccan club Vidad ahead of their match against Al Ahli of Egypt in the African Champions League final this season due to misconduct.

The Disciplinary Committee’s penalties against Wydad FC came about in connection with the events of the quarter-final match against SC Belouizdad which took place on April 24, 2022, where Wydad was charged with misconduct after his fans stormed the field to celebrate getting up and threw something at their match against SC Beluizdad.

The Disciplinary Commission decided:

Wydad was fined $8,000 for throwing bottles from his fans.
Imposing a $10,000 fine on Wydad for fans who stormed the stadium and did not follow security measures.
Reducing the number of fans at the Mohamed V complex stadium to 30,000 spectators during the semi-final match that was played against Petro Atlético last Friday.
– In case of non-compliance with these instructions, the Disciplinary Committee will impose a penalty for playing behind closed doors in the next two Wydad matches.

CAF also sanctioned Moroccan club Raja after playing two matches behind closed doors in two upcoming matches in Confederation of African Football (CAF) tournaments due to stadium attendance exceeding CAF’s predetermined capacity in addition to a $24,000 fine for using bombs, candles, lasers, and bottle throwing in Their match against Al Ahli and a $20,000 fine for not securing the match as required.
