Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has signed a new “long -term” contract with his English club Liverpool, the latter officially announced today.

Salah said: “I feel good and I am happy to win more titles at the club. It was a fun day for everyone. It finally ended, “noting that the contract renewal took“ some time, but now that it’s happened, we need to focus on the future. ”

He continued: “You have no doubt noticed that the team has been constantly changing over the last five or six years. Last season we were close to winning four titles, but unfortunately in the last two weeks of the season we lost two titles. ”

This is due to the Champions League, where Liverpool lost their last match against Real Madrid, and the local league, which lost the battle by just one point to Manchester City.

“We have signed a new contract and we must continue to work and be positive to compete again for all the titles,” Salah explained.

Following the announcement of the contract extension, the hashtag #Salah_Baqi appeared in fans ’tweets on Twitter.

Salah’s contract with Liverpool will expire on June 30, 2023, and both sides have been in long and intense negotiations in recent months to extend it before reaching an agreement today.

Salah has scored 156 goals in 254 games for the Reds in various competitions since he moved from Rome five years ago.
