The French coach of the Guinea national handball team, Kevin Deco, expressed his pride in the level of his players during the African Championship of Nations, held in Egypt.

Guinea finished sixth in the African Championship after losing to Algeria (27-26) to qualify the Saharan fighters for the World Cup.

In a statement, Decou said: “Our match against Algeria was difficult and there is evidence that it ended with a one goal difference. We wanted to qualify for the World Cup, but we are happy with the achievement.”

He added: “Now I can say out loud that Guinea is one of the top six teams in Africa and from that point of view, all teams will have to deal with the Guinea national team. I am proud of all the players and thank them. “

He concluded: “We have reached this level with limited opportunities, and if there were more opportunities, we would be in the top three. We are currently at the completion stage and we will learn how to invest in this achievement later. Thanks Egypt. for the reception, organization and hospitality.
