Filipe Albuquerque wins the penultimate race in the United States

Portuguese driver Filipe Albuquerque (Acura) won the penultimate race of the North American Endurance Championship in motorsport on Sunday and returned to command of the competition.

Albuquerque, partnering American Ricky Taylor at this round at Road America, finished the race in 2:40.44.167 hours, leaving runners-up Alex Lynn and Earl Bamber (Cadillac) with 1.463 seconds. Sébastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande (Cadillac) were third with 1.981 seconds.

With these results, the Portuguese driver’s team is once again in command of the championship.

The other Portuguese in the race, João Barbosa (Ligier) retired after completing 40 laps.

The last round of the championship will be held at Petit Le Mans and will be a ten-hour race on October 1.
