The Portuguese swimmer, who had already reached the record in the morning qualifiers, was once again at a high level and took another 28 hundredths off the national maximum, at 1:00.66 minutes, finishing in ninth position in the two semifinals. making him the first reserve swimmer for Wednesday’s final.
Camila Rebelo arrived in Rome in possession of a time of 1.01.10, she improved it in the morning races to 1.00.94 and now to 1.00.66, that is, a progression of more than half a second.
In the same semifinal, another Portuguese swimmer, Rafaela Azevedo, who completed the 100 meter backstroke of these Europeans in 13th place, at the crossroads of the two heats, with 1.01.56.
Portugal is represented by 10 swimmers in the Europeans’ pure swimming competitions, which end on Sunday, and is also represented in the open water and artistic swimming competitions.
