Richardson’s story immediately spread like wildfire on CNN, NPR, and NPR. Newspaper “New York Times it’s covering up. BYU athletic officials also sympathized with Richardson, saying that an unruly fan had been ejected.
However, according BYU Puma ChronicleStudents attending the game said they had heard no racial insults against Richardson, while an anonymous source from the athletics department said Richardson did not point anyone out despite the police.
“RS complained. Richardson said he heard racial slurs in the second set but didn’t specify anyone. The authorities briefly discussed the situation and sent the police there … no further complaints were received until the end of the match.” source said.
chronic He also noted that video footage of the match showed Richardson serving the student section twice during the game, and that “a police officer could be seen watching the students outside the ROC section.” The publication further claimed that it “could not find a single source to support the allegation that Richardson had hurled racial insults at him in the student section”.
An unidentified source from the BYU athletics department also told the broadcast that the rebellious fan who was angry at the match did not sit in the student section and was mentally disabled.
“When a retarded fan approached a Duke actor. Then Duke’s team suddenly recognized the disabled person’s ‘voice’ as the one shouting insult,” the source said. “They didn’t see or point to a face, just a voice. They banned this man. Not to insult, but to annoy the incoming guests.
“BYU Athletics staff reviewed footage of the entire match, and the person Duke was talking about never sat in the student section,” the source said. “His story doesn’t hold up, BYU forbade an innocent man to placate the mob and get out of the PR mess.”
“But I don’t know if Ms. heard wrong or did it on purpose. According to Richardson, that’s definitely not the criticism BYU has received,” the source said. a video or various angles of BYuT caught nothing. This man is unlikely to allegedly hurl insults “on every pitch”.
