On or off the pitch, Mehdi Taremi has been an inescapable figure of the season at FC Porto. From the best start to the season in Portugal in terms of goals and assists to the expulsion in Madrid with Atlético with two yellow cards in his debut in the Champions League, going through the defense of administrator Vítor Baía and everything that happened after the quick interview of the Estoril area, the striker is in the spotlight in Portugal but also in the national team, where he scored Iran’s only goal in a friendly against Uruguay. And it was now in this pause for the commitments of the selections that another controversy around him.
“He has been very mistreated, which makes us sad and indignant”: Vítor Baía gives voice to FC Porto’s criticism of Taremi
In the narration made in Eleven Sports this Saturday of a meeting of the Madrid International Tournament, scoring for the World Padel Tour, one of the commentators used the expression “There are no Taremis here” to describe a gesture fair play between opposing players, in a diatribe that was soon commented on on social networks by Francisco J. Marques, director of information and communication at FC Porto.
“Perfect idiot”, says Rui Moreira. “Shameful”, says J. Marques: the question to Taremi that made Sérgio refuse to go to the flash interview
“One more to the collection. Once again Eleven makes fun of FC Porto and our player Taremi. These gentlemen are sick. And yes, centralism is this, they are the Lisbon commentators speaking to the whole country according to their own navel chart, without respect. FC Porto, the FC Porto fans and any decent spectator demand respect. Eleven can’t keep doing this kind of thing. There are no coincidences ”, the person in charge of the dragons wrote on his official Twitter account.

“We deeply regret the unfortunate comment made during the semifinal of the World Padel Tour Madrid this afternoon. Eleven doesn’t look at this kind of behavior and the necessary measures were taken so that it does not happen again, ”the television channel also wrote on Twitter. “El Once was careful to call to say that he will reinforce the control measures for this type of situation. I hope it doesn’t happen again,” Francisco J. Marques later announced, in response to the comment.

This Sunday, Vítor Bruno, assistant to Sérgio Conceição’s technical team, commented on the telenovela that had started the day before. “I was incredulous when I found out about this sad episode, coincidentally in the transmission of one of the sports that I like to follow the most. I must remember that before arriving at FC Porto, Mehdi [Taremi] I had already worked with two Portuguese trainers: Carlos Queiroz and Carlos Carvalhal”, began by saying the number 2 of the Porto players, also on his official Twitter account.

“But I don’t just speak in defense of men and athletes I know well; I also speak out against the flippancy and shamelessness with which in our society produce attacks on the honor and character of persons, in this specific case in our football. Regardless of the preferences and passions of the clubs, it is our duty to contribute to a totally different sports culture and a better education of the new generations. Here, in this house, we will always be Pepe and Taremi”, he added.
