English club Tottenham Hotspur have strongly condemned the racist slur against Brazilian star Richarlison during the Selecao’s 5-1 friendly win over Tunisia as the two teams prepare for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

After Brazil’s second goal scored by Tottenham’s Richarlison, fans threw a banana in what was considered a racist incident.

The Spurs wrote on Twitter: “We are outraged by the racist slurs against Richarlison in the Brazil-Tunisia match.”

He added: “This has no place in football or anywhere else, we support you Richie.”

Regarding the International Football Association, FIFA responded with a statement: “First of all, FIFA strongly rejects any form of racism and violence and takes a very clear position of zero tolerance for such behavior in football.”

He stressed that “FIFA is investigating the incident of yesterday’s match in Paris.”
