Soccer goalkeeper Samuel Soares renewed his contract with Benfica for another five seasons, until 2027, the Luz club announced this Thursday in a note published on its official website.
Soares, 20, was promoted to the first team this season, although for now he has the status of third goalkeeper in the squad, having completed all his training sessions with the Lisbon shield.
It is a feeling of pride and shows the trust that the club places in me. I hope to live up to that confidence with work, good performances and titles at the service of Benfica”, said the goalkeeper, in statements published on the Reds website.
Last season, Samuel Soares helped Benfica’s youth team win the UEFA Youth League and, later, the U-20 Intercontinental Cup.
Also on its official website, Benfica reported that Contract renewal with Hugo Félix and Diogo Priostetwo 18-year-old players who are part of the secondary team ‘incarnate’, but did not reveal the duration of the new contracts.
