The Ukrainian army received from Sweden Carl Gustaf M/45 submachine guns and ammunition designed in 1944.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has not yet mentioned the exact amount of small arms and ammunition in question.

It is noteworthy that Sweden produced the Carl Gustaf M/45 machine gun in batches until 1964, and the total number of guns produced reached 300,000 machine guns. Machine guns were in service in the Swedish army until the mid -nineties, after which others were sent to Ukraine.

The length of the machine gun is 802 mm, the weight is 3430 grams, the rate of fire is 600 rounds per minute, the initial speed of the bullet is 425 meters per second, the practical firing range is 200 meters.

The machine gun can use two magazines, the first holds 36 rounds, the second holds 50 rounds.

The machine gun was produced under license in Egypt in 1965-1970 and produced in limited numbers in the United States.

Swedish L/60 guns

Sweden also provided the Ukrainian army with L/60 40 mm guns designed in the 1930s, as well as the modern NLAW and АТ-4 LAW single-action grenade launcher, as well as the Carl Gustaf M3 multipurpose system.
