The Spanish company Navantia announced the completion of the first phase of tests of the new “S-81” class submarine.
“Navantia has completed the first phase of sea tests on its new S-81-class diesel-electric submarine Isaac Peral. In one week, the submarine made three trips and is now being prepared by experts for dive tests in the Gulf. Cartagena, ”the Infodefensa website wrote in a post. .
Navantia said Isaac Peral’s docking tests will continue until next August, where experts will identify any flaws and problems that may be inside, and then make adjustments if necessary, and will it later. It will undergo dive tests and would have been delivered to the Spanish Navy in the spring of 2023.
This submarine has a displacement of 3372 tons underwater, can dive to a depth of 460 meters, move at a speed of 19 knots and covers a distance of 5,000 nautical miles per mission.
