More than 450 young people tried their luck to win a ticket for a parabolic flight, where the sensation of zero gravity is simulated. A kind of simulation of what happens in space, but without leaving Earth. In the initiative “Astronaut for a day”, aimed at high school students, there were several steps that tried to get as close as possible to the process that astronauts face to get to a space mission, from physical tests to interviews and psychological tests.
After months of work on this program launched by Portugal Space, the Portuguese Space Agency, the 30 winners of the contest are finally known, and they even already have a physical boarding ticket for this trip.
