His name is Route, he’s a monkey, he called the emergency line and had officers from San Luis Obispo County, California go to the zoo where he lives.
The story ended up being told on the social networks of the San Luis Obispo police, since when the agents arrived at the zoo last Saturday night, they did not find any occurrence or emergency. In fact, as soon as they answered the call, it was immediately disconnected. The police called again, sent a message, but never got a response.
Once there, they noticed that apparently no employees had made any calls. It was at this point that they began to try to understand who might have been responsible for the phone call and concluded that it might have been Ruta, who found one of the zoo’s phones in a golf cart. With the phone in hand, she managed to dial the number 911 (which is equivalent to 112 in Portugal).
These animals “are very curious and will grab everything and start pressing buttons,” explained the police in the note released in this regard. “Turns out this was the right combination to connect us,” she added.
