Former Vice President Mike Pence’s advocacy organization has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the State Department for documents regarding the Biden administration’s “strong opposition” to Jewish communities in the West Bank.
According to State Department spokesman Ned Price, the construction of Jewish homes in the West Bank is “highly inconsistent with efforts to reduce tensions and promote calm and undermine hopes for a two-state solution” between Israel and the Palestinians.
The Biden administration also announced that it is aware of Israel’s view that Jerusalem should refrain from actions that are “provocative” and undermine efforts to achieve peace.
Pence Legislation 501(c)(4) Enhanced American Freedom made a request to the Freedom of Information Act for documents that are “likely to contribute significantly to the public’s understanding of government operations or activities.”

“[T] The government activity in question was the establishment of the geopolitical position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the consequent transfer of that policy to Israel, a very relevant and very important geopolitical ally. Paul Teller, AAF’s executive director, wrote in the request.
The request requires the transfer of all records containing the State Department’s determination of Israel’s actions that are deemed “convincing” or could damage a future peace agreement.
The AAF’s stated mission includes “advocating the successful policies of recent years that have led to unprecedented prosperity at home and restored American power abroad, while preserving traditional American values.”
The Freedom Agenda, released earlier this year, stated, “The Israeli side…[ing] To ensure peace, prosperity and a brighter future for the Israeli and Palestinian people. ”
About half a million Jewish Israelis live in about 300 settlements in the West Bank, called Zone C.
Under the Trump administration, the United States has said it no longer sees Israeli settlements as violations of international law, contrary to decades of US policy. The former foreign minister also acknowledged that the West Bank, also known by the biblical names of Judea and Samaria, is the “lawful home of the people of Israel.”

The State Department under the Trump administration stopped using the nomenclature “Israel and the Occupied Territories” and instead began referring to the region as “Israel, the Golan Heights, the West Bank and Gaza”.
The comma strategically placed after the West Bank and Gaza, in addition to the deletion of the phrase “occupied territory” (recognition as “controversial”), separated the two regions, thus allowing for more than one resolution of the conflict.
Combining them, as they did then and still does in the EU and the UN, does not allow any distinction to be made between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, administered by the Palestinian Authority, which officially recognizes Israel. It is run by the terrorist group Hamas, which does not recognize Israel and promises to destroy it.
The Trump administration has cut aid to Palestinians because of the US boycott and the so-called pay-for-kill scheme that pays Palestinian terrorists and their families a salary. One of the first steps the Biden administration has taken is to renew aid and work to revive the long-dead solution between the two states in an attempt to restore what it calls “credible relations” with the Palestinians.
