Aid groups in South Korea have sought medical help for North Korea

A group of South Korean civilian groups have announced plans to provide medical assistance worth 12 billion won ($ 10 million) to North Korea to help it cope with the Corona virus outbreak.

At a joint press conference in Seoul, the three organizations, the Korean NGO Cooperation with North Korea, the Korean Reconciliation and Cooperation Council, and the Civil Peace Forum announced a project to send items such as the COVID-19 test kits, masks. , protective clothing, antibiotics and antipyretics.

These groups accepted Chairman Yoon Seok-yeol’s promise to send anti-virus aid, including vaccines and other medical supplies, to the North earlier this week, emphasizing the need to implement proposal “in an honest manner that will be accepted by North Korea.”

He also urged North Korea to positively accept the South Korean government’s proposal and move forward for dialogue.

The groups said they would try to reach North Korea “in every way possible” to help fight the coronavirus early next week.
