“Revenge is inevitable,” Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi vowed on Monday to avenge Sayad Khodaei, a Revolutionary Guards colonel who was killed in Tehran on Sunday.
Yesterday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards condemned the assassination, noting that “those behind it are elements associated with ‘global arrogance’, a phrase used by Islamic Republic officials to refer to the United States and its Israeli-led allies.”
According to the official IRNA news agency, the assassination took place around 16:00 local time (11:30 GMT) when a god had returned home.
The agency has released images showing a bloodied man with a crooked head sitting in the driver’s seat of a white car. The driver’s side window was broken. He noted that he had been hit by five bullets.
