The Greek government has confirmed that Athens does not intend to argue with Erdogan that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is no longer available to him after his visit to the US.

Greek government spokesman Ioannis Economou said: “Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis defends our national rights and international legitimacy with determination and effectiveness. Greece’s foreign policy is firmly based on history, international law and our alliances, despite the annoyance of some, we will not get involved in disputes with the Turkish leadership,” stressing that our policy is a policy of principles.

Earlier today, Erdogan announced that Mitsotakis no longer exists for him after his visit to the US: “We made it clear to all our partners that Turkey’s approach to NATO expansion is aimed at fighting terrorism and the alliance. How does Greece feel about us now? But isn’t the “Organization” way now? Fathallah terrorist” (accused by Ankara of an attempted coup in July 2016) to Europe through Greece?.. We talked to them and agreed that third countries should not participate in our negotiations. After that, Mitsotakis urged the United States not to sell the F-16. After that, there is no one else named Mitsotakis for me. In any case, the United States will not make decisions based on his statements.”
