The German Foreign Ministry indicated that “German Foreign Minister Annalina Beerbock refused to meet with Ukrainian Ambassador to Berlin Andriy Melnyk and intends to hold meetings with her colleagues only at the level of foreign ministers.”

For her part, Beerbock felt that she was “in constant contact with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba”, and in response to this, Dan Melnyk, the decision of the German minister, said: “I want Germany’s top diplomat to take the time to meet with ambassador of Ukraine,” adding that “no formula can replace Secret Chat.”

Melnik has long criticized Berlin for its unwillingness to transfer weapons to Kiev. Recently, in an interview with the Funke media group, Melnyk expressed disappointment that the 15 Gepard anti-aircraft guns that Berlin promised to transfer to Ukraine would not have reached him. Except at the end of next July and another 15 guns at the end of next August. According to Melnyk, Germany can send to Ukraine at least 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles from its industrial warehouses and more than 30 vehicles from the warehouses of the German army, as well as 88 Leopard 1 tanks.
