Sherman told reporters after talks with her South Korean counterpart Cho Hyung-don in Seoul: “Any nuclear test would be in complete violation of UN Security Council resolutions, and there would be a swift and decisive response to such a test. will be not only from the Republic of Korea.” South Korea, the United States, Japan and the whole world will respond strongly and clearly.”

“We are ready and will continue our trilateral talks with South Korea and Japan tomorrow,” Sherman said.

The US official’s comments came after South Korea and US forces launched eight surface-to-surface missiles off South Korea’s east coast on Monday in response to short-range ballistic missile fire launched by North Korea on Sunday.
