US network NBC reported, citing sources, that “U.S. President Joe Biden will travel to Saudi Arabia next month and is scheduled to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,” noting that “he will visit the country from July 15 to 20.” On January 16, he will hold meetings with officials, including the Crown Prince.

On June 11, Reuters reported that US President Joe Biden said he had not yet decided whether he would travel to Saudi Arabia, as he had indicated that any visit that might take place would not be about oil.

And CNN reported, citing U.S. officials, that “Senior U.S. officials have told Saudi Arabia that the United States is ready to move forward in the ‘reset’ of relations between the two countries and effectively move from the murder of a Saudi journalist in the Washington Post to ‘Jamal Khashoggi in 2018 to mend relations with a major ally in the Middle East,” explaining that Biden plans to raise the Khashoggi killing directly with Mohammed bin Salman when they meet as early as next month.
