war map. What is known about the 112th day of conflict in Ukraine

112 days have passed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. The invading army continues to focus its efforts on the Lugansk region, where nightly shelling has damaged more than 35 buildings, including the Azot chemical plant, the center of the Ukrainian resistance in the besieged city of Severodonetsk. In the early afternoon, the mayor assured that the industrial zone was still in the hands of the Ukrainians.

An estimated 12,000 people remain in Severodonetsk. Of these, some 500, including 40 children, are hiding in the factory’s bomb shelters, according to estimates by the regional governor. The UK Ministry of Defense confirmed on Wednesday that there are several hundred civilians in the factory, along with various elements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
