Member of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik called the sanctions imposed by Sarajevo against Russia “absurd, since Russia is the guarantor of the Dayton Agreement, and there will be no consensus on sanctions against Russia and they will not be implemented.”

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent notes of protest to Russia, China and Serbia against the backdrop of sending representatives to participate in the celebration of the illegal “Day of the Bosnian Serb Republic.” Bosnian Foreign Minister Besira Turković pointed out that “the memos emphasized that official participation in the celebrations constituted flagrant interference in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

The notes contained the text of the decision of the Constitutional Court to ban the celebration of this day and a warning that such actions would spoil bilateral relations. The city of Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted events dedicated to the “Bosnian Serb Republic Day”, although in 2015 they were banned by law in the country.
