A security officer was seriously injured when a motorcycle bomb exploded in his face while trying to defuse it near a police station in Suarez, Colombia’s Cauca Department.
Colombian authorities noticed the unusual presence of a motorcycle in front of the Suarez city police station.
A video clip showed Officer Jorman Curtis Acosta trying to defuse a bomb on his protective gear, but it suddenly exploded in a terrifying scene, and the officer was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Although Kurtz was wearing an explosive suit, he suffered serious injuries to his limbs.
And local authorities in Colombia are blocking motorcycle parking in public places to protect civilian lives and secure facilities.
According to local media, the Colombian prosecutor’s office, in turn, deplored the attack and stressed its solidarity with the police and the victim’s relatives.
This is the second explosion of its kind in the province of Cauca, Colombia, in which a bomb exploded in the city of Corinth, prompting authorities to declare a state of constant alert to the wave of violence that has swept through southwestern Colombia.
