An airplane landing gear, the structure that supports a plane’s wheels and allows it to move when in contact with the ground, caught fire when it made an emergency landing at Miami International Airport on Tuesday.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava reacted to the incident by praising the work of the firefighters, who “made a miracle happen” and who “ran to the scene and arrived within a minute.”
Meanwhile, an investigation has been opened to investigate the causes of failures in the plane’s landing structure, which caused the fire and forced the passengers to escape.
