The Spanish Olympic Committee has announced that it has withdrawn its bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics.

The Committee clarified that the officials of Catalonia and Aragon have not reached an agreement with the officials of the Pyrenees region regarding the joint organization of the Winter Olympic Games.

Spanish Olympic Committee President Alejandro Blanco told reporters that the bid to host the 2030 Winter Olympics will not be submitted to the International Olympic Committee.
“We cannot present an Olympic project,” he added, explaining that no agreement had been reached with officials from the French Pyrenees region in northeastern Spain.

The 26th Winter Olympic Games will be held from 8 to 24 February 2030.

President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach said that, in addition to Spain, Japan, America, Argentina and Georgia expressed their interest in hosting the Games.
The International Olympic Committee is expected to make a decision on hosting the 2030 Winter Olympics next year.
