Uruguay captain Diego Godin terminated the contract with Atlético Mineiro by friendly agreement of the parties and moved to the ranks of the Argentinean Felice Sarsfield, as the latter announced.

Felice Sarsfield, a club from the capital of Buenos Aires, expressed his joy at the signing of Godin on his website and said: “A pillar of the team led by Alexandre Medina, an example for his future colleagues and a huge added value for Feles and Argentinean football in general” .

The 36-year-old joined the Brazilian club last January on a one-year contract from the Italian league, where he played for Inter in the 2019-2020 season and then for Cagliari from 2020 until early 2022.

Godin joined Felice Sarsfield to catch up in Brazil and try to get enough time on the pitch before heading to Qatar with his country later this year to play his fourth personal World Cup appearance, like two other stars Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani.
