US President Joe Biden is in Germany for the G7 summit, during which the bloc’s leaders will discuss a united front against Russia and the worrisome weakness of the global economy.

The US presidential plane landed in Munich, from where Biden boarded the presidential helicopter to the Ellmau castle region, where the summit is taking place. The US President, who is on a three-day visit to Germany, will begin talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. After Germany, Biden will travel to Spain to attend the NATO summit.

On Thursday, White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby noted that the visit comes at a “turning point for transatlantic solidarity,” stressing that “you will clearly see how the President’s intention from the start to revitalize our alliances and partnerships has allowed us to be on time before Russia is responsible.” He pointed out that Biden intends to prove to his allies that the fight against Russia and the confrontation with China are complementary, not conflicting goals.
